Rock Climbing Classes and Bouldering Classes

I have been climbing since 2017 and route setting since 2019. I love lead and top rope climbing, and am always happy to share beta and talk about anything related to climbing. I love helping climbers conquer their projects and gain confidence through learning essential climbing skills.

I’m James, the Assistant Head Route Setter and Beta to Black coach at Hub! I primarily work at the Markham location, although you may see me across both facilities- I even worked for Walltopia on the construction of the Mississauga location! I started climbing in 2016, both indoors and outdoors, and across many countries. I have dabbled in everything from pulling plastic to homemade holds on the home wall to multi-pitch trad routes in Yosemite.

Hi, my name is Daniel and I am a setter and instructor at Hub Markham. I got into climbing in 2019 when my older brother introduced it to me and I have been extremely into climbing ever since. I hope to set in competitions; both bouldering and ropes. I built a home wall in my garage over the pandemic and I have even attempted making my own climbing holds (only some of which have worked… for now!) As a coach, I may be relatively new compared to my coworkers but I have plenty of climbing knowledge and experience that will surely help some newer climbers. As I continue to grow my coaching abilities I hope to be able to see improvement in the people that I am coaching so we can each benefit from the training.

My name is Javier, and I am an assistant manager and setter for the Markham facility. I started climbing at HUB back in 2018 and haven’t stopped since then. Climbing has helped me grow as a person because it is my main outlet to challenge myself mentally and physically. One of my favorite things about climbing is the community. When you are climbing with people that are also trying their best, it psyches you up and makes you want to try even harder. I am very grateful for all the friendships I have made from this activity.
