Birthday Parties FAQ
Our recommended minimum age is 6 as some younger children may struggle to reach the climbing holds.
We can accept some children who are 4+ as long as they weigh at least 35 pounds and can fit within our harness. If you are unsure, our staff will check prior to climbing.
- Climbers within a “birthday party” must be 17 and under
- Adults climbing must purchase entry pass and rental gear
Comfortable athletic clothes, no jewelry or “hanging” accessories that can get caught on the rocks. Bring socks, as your child will be wearing rentals. We do Lysol the climbing shoes, but socks are encouraged for their comfort.
An adult participant must fill out and sign their own waiver, minor waivers must be filled out by legal parents and guardians. Guardians must show official proof of guardianship.
There will be up to 60 minutes of climbing Climbers will be clipped into the auto belays. An autobelay device lowers you gently to the ground. Climbers will also have access to our Bouldering (unattached climbing on lower walls). Should you like to boulder as well please note a 15- 20 minute orientation must occur within your time slot.
Not at all! Our experienced staff will provide orientations to the climbers and help them along the way.
We usually require a minimum of 3 weeks notice in order to schedule the event hosts for your birthday.
If you would like to continue climbing without the party room, visit us at Front Desk and we can provide you with a daypass and rentals. You will need to directly supervise any children who are climbing (1:3 ratio).
If you wish to continue using the party room you can rent it for an additional fee of $75.00/hr. The party room is most likely to be available to rent after the day’s last birthday time slot, typically around 6.00pm. We can provide more information at markham@hubclimbing.com.
